My daughter was visiting Nashville and got stranded with car issues on Sunday and had to get back to college hours away.  We lived too far away to assist in time.  Found Jay, and he was able to come to her aid and replace the starter and another issue. He showed up when he said he would and got her car going and communicated with me along the way to make sure I knew what was happening and assured me he had her car safe and ready to go. Jay's Mobile Auto Repair impressed me from the start. He was the only mobile mechanic who responded to me with confidence, explaining that he had experience replacing internal water pumps on Ford 3.7L Cyclone engines. What stood out even more was his punctuality—he showed up before 10:00 AM on Saturday, ready to work hard.  The job itself was no walk in the park. It involved taking apart a lot of the engine to get to the timing chain-driven water pump, but Jay handled it like a pro with help from his mechanic friend. He finished the job in ~6 hours, which is pretty impressive.  On top of his skill, he charged a fair price for such a tough job and even threw in a free oil and filter change (using my provided oil and filter) after finishing the water pump repair. Before he left, he walked me through a few smaller issues he noticed while working—nothing urgent, but things to keep an eye on for future maintenance. Jay’s thoroughness and care for his customers are rare to find in a mechanic, and it made the whole experience even better.

Jay is great! I needed my front brake pads and rotors replaced. He not only came to me but he also was cheaper than Firestone and a local shop. Very professional and fast. Highly recommend!

Jay is amazing! I called at least 20 other mechanics regarding working on my pontiac solstice gxp. Had most of them say they need my vin then not respond to me, don't know what my car is, or won't work on it. Jay responded quickly and actually helped me out! Had water pump, timing chain, and some performance mods done to the car. Now it is running great and handles much better than before with the rear suspension brace! Highly recommend him for performance vehicles. Price is very fair and he gave me a lot of knowledge on maintaining my car for future upgrades.

He came out to my house and replaced my rotors and brakes same day on all 4. He communicated his ETA, communicated what I needed and if parts were available. Very professional and also personable. He also informed he he’s been a mechanic for 10 years. Which made me even more confident in him handling my car. I’ll definitely be using him again.

I had my car broken into with steering column damaged and called Hooten’s to see if they could get someone out to my location to check it out. Shannon assisted and after checking out pictures of steering column, he advised me that it’s a simple fix and guided me to fix it myself over the phone. Although I didn’t receive service this time, due to Shannon’s honest consultation, I will most def be reaching out to Hooten’s whenever myself or any of my peers need assistance.

Shannon is the best mobile mechanic I’ve come across. He friendly. On time. Efficient. Explains everything to you top to bottom and very knowledgeable about cars. He had my car running great next day after booking an appointment. He came out diagnosed and ordered the parts needed and show up the next morning and swapped them out for me. Car runs great now. If you need a mobile mechanic he’s the way to go.

Shannon is by far one of the best mechanics I have ever worked with, hands down. He is so knowledgeable and professional. This kind of service is PERFECT if you need work done on your car and are unable to take it to a shop. His prices are fair and his work is solid. He came by on a day I was working from home with a house full of kids and fixed my car up right in the driveway! I wish I could give Hootens a million gold stars, because five is not enough. I will 100% be booking his services again in the future.
