Great mechanic service. Fairly priced, fixed rates, no upselling or other shenanigans. The mechanic who came and did the work was also the owner of the business. I've had some brakes replaced and a belt, no issues on either several months out.

Swung by with some check engine lights on as I was heading out of town the day after thanksgiving. Graham wasn’t able to do a full inspection but helped me understand the codes and their severity. Super friendly and willing to help

I wrote a review earlier but removed it because I had to go in to more detail. As I said before, Graham was incredibly knowledgeable, professional, and fair with price. But after I wrote that review, a lot happened. My car started having some problems that were not present before my car was fixed. Graham was kind enough to accept me dropping in on him and even was nice enough to help resolve the issue for free. He even went as far as calling me to check on how the car was doing once he released it to me. Now that’s service! I definitely recommend this shop for someone who wants personalized and thorough service.

Best mechanic in Portland! Always very honest services- they will fix your car up right and never upsell you or take advantage of you. I have come here several times and even when they could make more money off me, they are up front about which services are a safety issue and which can wait. Quick turnaround time. If you're looking for a knowledgeable, professional, and especially honest mechanic, I highly recommend Hansen Mechanical for your vehicle's service. I called about getting my Prius engine misfires diagnosed, and Graham (the owner) got me in the following week. Graham was thorough about the diagnosis and explained the tests they performed and the issues they found. The price was reasonable. Graham really cares about making sure you understand what is going on with your vehicle and what the necessary repairs are.  I will definitely seek his service in the future with any other vehicle-related needs!

The makeshift sign on the door at Hansen Mechanical says “Proper Automotive Repair,” and that’s an excellent description of what you’ll get here. Graham and his team have a deep, “old school” knowledge of cars, and they went above and beyond to take care of mine.  After a positive experience getting my brakes repaired here, I decide to have my timing belt replaced. Unfortunately, the team discovered some damage to my engine from a previous accident that made the repair a lot more complicated. I thought my 2002 Honda might have reached the end of its road, but Graham patiently worked to fix it and eventually found a creative solution that saved my car. I know he put in a lot of extra work, but my total was only slightly higher than the estimate – and well within the Kelly Blue Book “fair repair” price.  I especially appreciated that he explained every step of the process without talking down to me. It was clear enough that I could explain it all to my dad, who felt confident that I was in good hands. I’m thankful to have found Hansen Mechanical and highly recommend the team for quality workmanship and integrity.

I called Tuesday, discussed replacing starter on my car, I did some research, then called Wednesday at 7:10 a.m. - Everett Street Auto ordered the part, I dropped the car off, arranged for shuttle and I was able to pick up my repaired car - all in the same day. I was able to make an appointment online and given the flexibility to bring my car to the shop the night before service was scheduled. They contact through call and text and pick up was simple. Staff were all friendly and attentive. Great location!

I took my 2001 VW GTI several times here for a variety of repairs including air conditioning servicing, sunroof maintenance, axle replacement, serpentine belt replacement, system too lean caused by a brake booster vacuum hose leak, etc.  Every time I was professionally greeted, received a clear estimate for diagnosis, then a mid-day call with diagnostics results and estimate of repairs.  This is very refreshing when the VW dealer themselves are now reluctant to work on 2001 cars. No problem at Everett St, they will help you.  I feel confident that the work is well done and recommendations adequate. This is not a shop that will try to upsell by adding unnecessary services. They recommended extra work but it was justified.  I especially like the detailed invoices with services performed and comments from the technician, and the ESAW Safety Inspection. Note: they don't give you the ESAW report by default, but they will email you a copy of it right away upon request.  I'm not surprised they're getting consistent good reviews. I've had good experiences here so far.

Cole and team at Everett St Autoworks have always done an outstanding job. We’ve taken all our various cars there for years (decades really) and have always received wonderful service. Their prices are always better than the dealership and their turnaround times are quick.

Absolutely love this place! I've been bringing cars here for over 15 years and they've never let me down. They are very consistent and do great work. I also appreciate that I'm not taken advantage of here just because I'm a woman. They treat me the same as they do my Dad, who's also been bringing cars in for maintenance for 15+ years. Nestor is our favorite!

Jeff is the man. I was on a road trip driving through Portland when my check engine light came on & my car started trying to die on me while on the freeway 💀 I called a bunch of places and everyone was too busy to help me. It was a friday afternoon but Jeff picked up right away & although he already had a busy schedule he found a way to squeeze me in. He literally saved my whole trip! He was friendly and accurate, accommodating & mobile which is a huge bonus. I would recommend his services to anyone in the Portland area!

These guys are GREAT! Called them to about my battery light coming on (alternator) in my 2004 Toyota 4Runner. Came out the next day and got it done. Fantastic! I’m keeping him on speed dial and he’s now my go to mechanic. Thanks for the great work!

Read the horror YELP reviews before hiring.  I was scammed by Jeff, and so were others. Beware before hiring him.  Jeff basically begged to work on my 1953 Willys Jeep, promised he would give me weekly updates, then I never heard from him. I thought he had stolen my car.  After many months (he had my car for 6 months!) and excuses about his health, his work troubles, and family life,  he did some work on the car, took $2,000, and didn't do half of what he said he did according to my new mechanic who reviewed his work.  I hired him based on Google reviews, and while it looks he actually completes mobile jobs, DO NOT DROP YOUR CAR OFF WITH HIM. He's done this to others, just see Yelp.

Jeff and Billy are top notch, although my truck was a big pain in the ass, Jeff and Billy got me up and running again. Talented duo with these fellas, their work flow is impressive, and they seem to work together with seamless effort. I highly recommend you give them a call if you need a reliable mechanic service. Jeff and his assistant Billy are two of the best/most down to earth mechanics I’ve ever met. They came right to my house and replaced my Water Pump and Brake Pads and got my car back up in running in no time. Highly recommended, 5 stars all the way 💪
